I’m trying to test out the ticket scanning feature, and can’t seem to successfully ‘check in’ via the app and scanning my ticket. For seemingly valid tickets, whenever I scan it my app says “Invalid Ticket”. Not sure what I’m doing wrong… |
Hi there, Does your website have any security plugins installed? |
Possibly? We JUST switched to an https site…is there something I can look for or ask our developer more specifically about? |
Some security plugins can interfere with the REST API request from the app to your website. We have a troubleshooting guide that has some specific examples of error messages and their fixes: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#troubleshooting If you view a list of attendees does the app allow checking in without any error messages? |
No, if I try to check someone in manually, I get a connection error. I’ll see if our developer can identify an issue with the security settings based on your previous link. |
There may also be a potential plugin conflict so if they can’t find any security settings that are affecting the connection from the app to your site, they can try temporarily deactivating some of the other plugins on the website. |
We have eliminated any potential for plugin issues. Through testing, I am able to log in and scan a ticket on an iOS device. When I try with the identical credentials, I cannot on my android device. |
May I ask which version of the Android app do you have installed on your device? |
Version 2.25. |
Can you install this plugin and check for errors in the REST API Log from when you try the Android app? |
We’ve installed the plugin and have a log file it generated during one of these tests. What is the best way for you to evaluate that (rather lengthy) file? |
It shouldn’t actually be generating any files. The only way we’d be able to take a look at it is if you can complete the form on this page so we can access the admin of your WordPress site: |

Just curious if I could get a status update on this? Thanks. |
Hi there, No status update. I sent a note over to Seth to see if the app developer can look into this further. It appears that on your server for some reason there are two requests happening when the Android app requests the registration list, when the iOS app only shows one request. |
Thank you. |
Hi there, Can you please let us know the Android version and phone model this was happening on? |
Samsung Galaxy S7, Android version 7.0 |
Thanks, I’ll pass this info along. |
I just released a beta update to the Android app that should fix this issue. I tested it briefly on your site. If you would like to test the beta, you can opt-in here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.eventespressohd.android |
I have opted in for the Beta test and will let you know once I have an opportunity to test. Thank you! |
I have successfully tested and scanned using the Beta version of the app. Thank you for your work on this! |
