Hi, my client has been using PayPal Express Checkout with Smart Buttons for a few years now. They are a bit frustrated that Venmo payments require users to jump through a few hoops:
Venmo will appear on mobile devices when an attendee has the Venmo mobile app installed and when merchant payments are enabled in the app. An attendee can enable merchant payments through the Venmo app –> Settings –> Connect Browsers and then connect the browser.
Are there any plans to get this integrated in a more convenient way? For example, allowing the Venmo button to show all the time – even on desktop devices.
They have several customers who prefer to pay this way and it’s been very challenging.
The availability of Venmo for purchases is determined entirely by PayPal, not Event Espresso. So, unfortunately, that’s something PayPal will have to improve.
You can get in touch with the Paypal support and make a feature request.
