When our users enter the phrase they keep getting an invalid message. When I tried it, it took me to the next page to tell me it was invalid, when I hit the back button I had to refill everything back in. (annoying). When I tried again, it took me though the whole registration process and THEN told me the phrase was invalid. I have seen 3 different error message with the last one being ” I turned of all other plugins and was able to get to the next screen, but there are no prices showing. When I click confirm, all info except event title disappears. In the back end I get a registration with no registrant info. I am back to the “nothing works” scenario I had last year. I NEED this product to be consistent. Morag Reid

Hi Morag, It looks like the problem you’re having is from having all the templates (likely from the version you used one year ago) copied over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. You can rename the custom template folder in that location by going to Event Espresso>Template settings and clicking the “Rename Templates Directory” in the big pink box there. This will allow the newest versions of the templates to be used which have all the new security checks that were added a few versions back. |

Thank you Josh. I did that and it all worked great until I came to the end. The return page from paypal has the payment marked “incomplete” when I paid with a credit card. But it shows complete in the dashboard. The other question I am getting is about the recapcha. Folks are having a hard time reading it. Is there an alternate available?
Thanks

Hi there, For this issue:
You can check for any outdated payment gateway files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. You can also verify that you have all the latest add-ons installed. If the add-ons were installed about one year ago, this was before we added the auto update feature, so they would not necessarily notify you there are updates ready. You can compare the version numbers you have installed on your site to what’s available to download from your account page and update these manually if need be.
You can check with your host to see if they have or will install the apache mod security module. There’s more information here: https://eventespresso.com/2012/08/protecting-your-events-against-spam/ |
