When trying to download the app for event espresso 4 on an android phone I get the message “the app isn’t available for your device as it was made fir an older version of android”.
The device is a Pixel 5.
will the android app be updated soon as I have just migrated our system from ee3 to ee4 specifically as the app for the older version of ee was no lonGer available on apple devices and am now facing the same problem on android ones.

Hi there,
That’s… odd! I have no issues installing the android app using an S22 Ultra.
I’ve just tested it again on another device to make sure and again no issues.
Just to confirm, are you installing this app:

I’ve double checked using that link as it wasn’t showing up at all on a search for even espresso on the play store (was fine on the iOS App Store). Only version 3 would show in the App Store when searching for me.
The Pixel 5 is currently running android version 13 build number TQ1A.230205.002

I did a little digging into the error you posted above and its apparently happening for new users and for apps which don’t target ‘recent’ API levels. I’ve installed the app before so I’m guessing it just shows me regardless.
Google have a section we can use to basically request more time for it to continue to work as it does until we can push an update for the app to work around this which we have now done. It may take a little for the Playstore to update but if you try this again a little later today it should show up and allow the install again.
