Hi there I have just started getting this error message when users are attempting to order tickets.

The message is coming up on a free show on desktop to my notice.

Please advise on the solution – https://theukweddingevent.co.uk/events/burnhallyork/

I have also tried troubleshooting healthcheck plugin which disabled other plugins and it is still throwing up the same error

I have a conference starting Monday with over 400 registered. They are trying to purchase tickets and they are getting the same errors.

The solution I found was to install the beta version and my ticket system is now working fine.

Hi there,

We’ve been investigating this and found a possible cause with one of the PHP8 fixes we included in the last update (the issue doesn’t happen for everyone, it depends on your setup).

I’ve just pushed the latest version of Event Espresso live, which is version 4.10.35.p

Please update to that version and it should fix the above issue, if not let me know and we can investigate this on each site. I do not recommend switching to the Beta version of Event Espresso to fix this, the beta version is intended for testing.

Note – If you don’t see the update live yet go to Event Espresso -> General Settings, just hit save to force an update check and the update should then show in Dashboard -> Plugins.

Hi Tony, I have swapped over from the Beta to the new version and that appears to have fixed the problem.

One other thing though, can you explain why the cog symbol page (when the order is processing) seems to take an age on our website to complete.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob,

The cog is shown when an ajax request is processing, so basically the cog will show for however long it takes for your server to process the request and return a response for it.

Now… the usual cause of the cog taking a long time is emails, it this happening at the ‘end’ of the registration, be that for a free or paid registration?

First, can you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings.

You’ll see an options for ‘Generate and send all messages’, what is that set to?

Hi Tony,

I spotted your test email.

It is currently setup to on the same request.

cleanup of old messages is set to forever.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob,

Switch to the other option there ‘on separate request’ and then test again, is it quicker then?
