The odd occasion I have got passed this stage, the majority of the times end up with ‘the error’ after entering data at Registration Checkout. “An error has occurred: Your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations. This can sometimes happen if too much time has been taken to complete the registration process. Please return to the Event List and reselect your tickets. If the problem continues, please contact the site administrator.”

Looking at past support solutions, I have added the code for a 90 minute session time and changed admin options to set Encode Session Data to Yes (seemed to improved, but then started again… Having seen over the last few years this error seems to have different fixes.

I found EE4 Error Posted: June 12, 2018 at 8:17am…so I Entered Troubleshooting mode, reactivate Event Expresso and problem still occurred.

Hi Stephen,

Hi Support, really need some help here, We are suppose to be going operational next week,so I need this error resolved, Please help.

My apologies for the delay, we ran limited support over new years eve/day as the team spent some time with their families.

Looking at past support solutions, I have added the code for a 90 minute session time and changed admin options to set Encode Session Data to Yes (seemed to improved, but then started again… Having seen over the last few years this error seems to have different fixes.

The error you are getting means that EE checked the current checkout’s transaction and couldn’t find registrations linked to that transaction, this can happen for various reasons, one of which is the session timed out (which extending the session time can help with) or some odd server setups fail when serializing the session session data so the ‘Encode Session Data’ can sometimes help with that.

In short, the fixed haven’t really changed but there are multiple different causes all with the same end result. It could be some form of garbagae collection running on the server which is clearing our the transients used by EE for example, that will also give you the same error.

Can you link me to an event I can use to run some test registrations on, please? Feel free to set the reply to private if you don’t want the link to be publicly available.

Thank you, I ran some test registrations the problem is that your site is cached every 5 minutes, if you complete the registration within that 5 min window it will work but that’s not a usable window for the user.

It looks like your using WP Business hosting and if that’s the case you’ll need to switch hosting to use Event Espresso as WP.com has listed EE4 as incompatible on their hosting platform.

The errors you are getting are due to the aggressive caching WP.com is using and we’ve worked with other users previously to try and have that caching disabled on the EE specific pages, but in short, they continued to have caching related issues until they switched to another provider.
