Hi,

You helped us cure a page display issue with a custom page template that cured the sidebar from falling down on the single event description pages. This works great on all events except for the ones that go to an alternate registration page on another site. I notice if I don’t check “Display Ticket Selector” in the event setup, the page template behaves (but we then need to include a link to the registration page in the description copy in this case since the Register Now button doesn’t show). However, with Display Ticket Selector checked (so the Register Now button becomes available to click), the sidebar drops down again.

Here is a url for an event with the described page layout behavior (with Display Ticket Selector checked in setup):
https://sitedev2015.soilborn.org/events/fungi-and-mushrooms/

Any idea why this sidebar displacement is happening? We can just be sure to include the outside registration url in the copy but if there is a fix, that would be easier for our admin staff to work with.

Thanks for your help,

Gilda

Hi Gilda,

You could try removing that custom template, it may not be needed anymore.

Cool, the “regular” templates do work now! However, they all seem to have the same behavior: If the ticket selector is set to YES (so the Register button shows on the detail page) and there is also an alternative registration url entered, the page falls apart. I think we will just need to be careful to avoid having those 2 conditions (unless you have any other ideas about what might be causing that.)

It’s likely a bug in the theme, does everything work okay if the alternative page URL is set and the Display ticket selector option is set to No?

Yep, so we’ll just make sure to have the alternative registration in the copy instead of using the button.

One more question: I have been working on setting up a Custom Post Type for recipes using PODs (I’m in monkey-with-a-typewriter stage of learning so have not gotten far into it yet…) Do you have any reports of a PODs interfering with EE at all? I’ll abandon this idea if it does, keeping the EE stuff happy is much more important for this site.

We actually have no reports of PODs interfering with Event Espresso.

That’s great, thanks very much for checking. GT
