Our client needs to register attendees for events manually using the EE4 Admin Page. Since some attendees are from their training partners, they need to provide them with a % discount off of the ticket price. However, when you Add a Registrant and are taken to the Transactions page, there’s no way to enter or apply a promo code like you can for the public facing checkout process.
We’ve looked at Member Pricing but this won’t work because:
we can’t show the member price ticket on the public facing site, and
it’s not scalable to add additional tickets or separately priced events for each of their partners.
Price Modifiers are event specific so they won’t work either.
The only thing we can think to do is have the back office staff go to the public facing site, ensure they are logged out of WP, register the attendees using the promo codes assigned to that partner so the amount due reflects the discount. (We don’t like this because of the potential for the WP User being updated if they aren’t actually signed out.)
It would be easier if when registering from EE4 Admin, that the promo code field is presented and applied to the pricing.
The other way to do this is input the registration in the admin, then when you apply the payment, input the actual amount they pay (which is the discounted price), and set the registration status to Approved.
The only problem is that now when they do their financial reconciliation, there’s still an amount due and there’s no promo code listed for the registration.
