My question is the same as the one pointed here: And in regards to the support staffs answer, I have two problem with the solution given. A. If I set the event the free. I have to manually #1 Update each person to my event cost. #2 send an email telling them to pay (all that is fine, but…) #3 when they pay they get the same email that says “sorry you are on the waitlist”, and not payment received email. How can I change this? I would prefer to use the second solution which is setting the event to admin approval, HOWEVER I only want the waitlist event to have approval, not all my events. I assume this global setting will change all my events. So is there a way to apply that to only one event? And then I fear I will have the same email issue anyways. Ideally I would like to move someone from the waitlist event to the actual event to prevent all of this confusion. But I don’t think that’s an option either. Is there a better solution for this? |

Hi, The Pre Approval is not a global setting, once activated an individual setting appears in each event allowing you to se that event for pre approval. Moving the Attendees can be done with the Attendee Mover plugin, please see the Pre Release section of your account to access that. Is there a spot to customize the email that is sent when someone has been approved on the waitlist? Also slightly unrelated. I only count them as registered once they pay. So I have one person payed, and one not. So in my backend it tells me I have 1/40 attendees. Which is good. But on the front end it says 38 spots open. This should be 39. Is there a way to change this? |

Hi Karen, Currently that email can only be edited via a file edit: event-espresso/includes/functions/email.php. The function that controls it is pluggable, so it is likely easiest to copy the entire function (event_espresso_send_attendee_registration_approval_pending) to the custom files addon or a custom plugin and make the edits there. Regarding the spaces, the available spaces count will only be reduced if the attendee is marked as Completed or Pending. By default unpaid attendees will be marked as Incomplete unless the setting is changed in General Settings or in the event itself. |

I could probably just add the function to my themes functions.php file. Thanks Dean! |

Hi, That won’t work for pluggable functions unfortunately. The reason being is that plugins load before themes in the WordPress load order, so what will happen is the original function will load so your modified version will fail and possibly throw a fatal error. As such you will need to either use the Custom Files addon, a basic plugin, or a file in the uploads folder called custom_functions.php to load the modified function. |
