Hi, Currently it shows all the events on mobile app. Is there someway to restrict so that user can see only the events he has created? Currently if i allow the user to scan the the tickets for his events, he can also see other events & their attendees which doesn’t even belongs to him. It does’t seems a good idea to share the details of all other events to some third party user. Please suggest. |
It doesn’t seem to be? I just checked and the mobile app dev team has added support for ee_ capabilities for the upcoming version update. What that means is when you set up a user account and they don’t have any of the capabilities like ee_read_others_events then they won’t be able view other events and attendees in the app. |

Thanks Josh. So that is upcoming version update. So how do we add capabilities to the user currently? |

Hi Josh, I have been a bit confused. This is my scenarios: 1. I don’t want to share my real admin website password for ticket scanning. So i have managed that by “application password” plugin that gives me another password that i can use to login in the APP but can’t use it to login in the web application. So far so good. 2. Since the user, i have set “Application password” for in step 1 above is administrator. User will use this credentials to login in the APP. how can i stop user from seeing other events since he is administrator now? As per my understanding, i can set application password for “Administrator” only because i am not seeing the option of “Application Password” for other users. So long story short: User can see & scan the tickets for the events that he has created without admin access to the application. Please let me know how can i manage both the scenarios mentioned above. |
That’s a misunderstanding. You can actually set an application password for the user account that you’re currently logged into. You can use the User Switching plugin to quickly switch back and forth between user accounts without actually logging out of your administrator account. So, once the mobile app updates are released (where the new version of the apps include the feature they’ve added where the apps support ee_ capabilities) you’ll set up a user account, edit the account’s capabilities to include at least these: ee_edit_checkin ee_read_registration ee_read_transaction |

Perfect. It just worked. Thank you josh for clearing my doubts. You’ve been a great help. |
