How does the AffiliateWP integration work and how can it be tested without making an actual sale? It doesn’t show up as an integration in the AffiliateWP settings, right? What actually triggers the referral approval? Is it when the order is marked as approved? If I use an affiliate link to start a registration and then enter a payment in the backend and mark the registration as approved, should that trigger an approval? Thanks in advance for any info. The EE documentation is very brief…

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us.

There is no additional for the AffiliateWP integration addon. If you want to test the Affiliate you can follow the documentation here: https://affiliatewp.com/docs/how-to-test-everything-is-working/

Also, you can check the other detailed documentation here: https://affiliatewp.com/docs/

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Thanks for the link to the vendors docs, but since you’re selling this integration, I would still like an answer to my integration questions.

1) What actually triggers the referral approval? It doesn’t seem to happen if the order is manually paid with cash in the backend. Does it require an online credit card payment in order to work properly?

2) You can exclude shipping costs and taxes in the AffiliateWP settings, but is there also a way to exclude ticket fees from the referral?

Affiliate commission will be tracked for:

1. Registrations that are set to not approved and then later receive a payment that completes the transaction.
2. Offline payment method is chosen for initial registration(s) and then later marked as paid in the admin.
3. Payment is made with the registration that completes the transaction.

Affiliate commission is not tracked for:

1. Any registrations done in the backend by administration.

The front end checkout creates the affiliate record which is then updated when the transaction is updated (marked complete). It does should not require an online payment card payment to function.

2) You can exclude shipping costs and taxes in the AffiliateWP settings, but is there also a way to exclude ticket fees from the referral?

Not currently, what exactly are you referring to as ticket fees (in terms of within Event Espresso)?

I’m referring to ticket fees as in a percent surcharge within EE. It would be nice to be able to choose to have the referral based solely on the base ticket price. Similar to how shipping and taxes can be excluded directly in AffiliateWP.

Hi there,

Thanks for your suggestion, but it’s currently not possible with Event Espresso.
