I have a quick question regarding the setup of Event Espresso. I’m trying to figure out the best way to set up classes for the Wellness Center we are working with.
A little background –
The Center is providing classes for Art, Music, Dance, Yoga, and Acting. These disciplines have several classes, for example, Yoga has Yinyasa Flow. This class meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30pm – 3:30pm. The Center wants to be able to track the registrants attending the class on a specific date for reporting purposes. Another thing is the classes are donation based so they want attendees to have the option of paying $10, $20, or $30 to come to the class.
The question is…
What is the best way to set up these classes? We were hoping to use one “event” for the Vinyasa Flow class and have different datetimes within that event so it would be easier to manage than creating a separate event for each date. How will this work for reporting and donations? How would the donation be connected to a specific date? We would want the person to signup for a specific date instead of donating and then coming to whatever class they want.
The recommended way to set up those classes would be to set up one event for each time the class meets. Then set up 3 donation amount ticket options. You can set up one event, then make duplicates for each time the class meets.
If it were a case where one registration/donation gives access to all times the class meets, it would work better to do one event, then add all the datetimes for every time the class meets. That’s not the case here though.
