Inside an event the price says $25.00. When you go to the attendee registration view it says the price is $12.50.

Also when someone uses a coupon code, its not showing it in the Transaction Promotion field in the list. So you cannot tell which coupon the customer used.

Hi Dorian,

Those could be price modifiers and/or automatic discounts. Can you post a link to the event so we can investigate?

https://masterpiecemixerslouisville.com/events/eiffel-tower/

Notice the TXT Price, Final Price and Total TXT. Says $12.50 but is entered as $25.

Do you have a 50% promotion set up for this event?

Elizabeth

answers from my customer:

The front end of the site has the correct price correct when the customer checks out? Yes, it appears that way when I try it.

And when they enter the coupon code it calculates it correctly? I don’t know because that was my other email and is a BIG problem. We can’t see if they are entering a code or not anymore. Or not? The price is different after registration and we don’t know why.

They would have to enter the promo code if it was one for 50% off. It shouldnt default to 50% off.

Here is where it is not displaying to coupon code the customer used.

Coupon code missing

Can you log into the WordPress admin, then go to Event Espresso > Promotions, then check to see if there is a $25 discount that doesn’t have a promo code set? If no promo code is set, then the discount is automatic, the registrant does not have to enter a promo code.

They only have 1 coupon code. It’s a $25 fixed discount.

So when you click on any of the registrations that came out to 12.50, when you look at the Registration Items under Registration Details, does it show the promo code that was used?

Elizabeth

From customer: I do see that all those people used the code groupon and its cutting their charge in half instead of applying a $25 credit to the class.

The coupon says Fixed Discount then 25 (but when you save it says -25)

There are a total of 8 people that have tried to register that didn’t finish and it’s probably because of this problem. This is only since the update yesterday.

Please help ????

Hi Dorian,

This sounds like there’s a bit of confusion over what gets discounted. I can help clarify what’s going on:

It turns out a $25 discount will discount $25 off the total order. So when someone applies the $25 off code to a $50 order, it is cutting the charge in half, but that is only because $25 is half of $50. You can try a registration and select 3 tickets, and you’ll see that it discounts $25 off the order. Along with that, when you try a registration, you’ll be able to confirm where there is actually a problem or not.

Look above where you see:

Here is where it is not displaying to coupon code the customer used

Look at the highlighted field. When people use a coupon code, it does not list the code they used in the column. So there is no way to know which coupon the customer used.

Does it display the promo code that was used in the individual registration entry, in the admin?

Elizabeth

September 16, 2015 at 9:48 am

Yes. They do not want to have to go into each individual to see that. The report should show it….being it has the column there.

Thanks for answering my question, now I know that it’s correctly recording the promo code that was used, and correctly displaying it in the registration record in the admin.

So can you check to see if any modifications have been made to the registration CSV reports via a custom function or otherwise? Normally the registration CSV report does include the promotion code used in that column.

Elizabeth

Why is that column there then? It would make it much easier if they can print the list seeing all the codes.

The column is there to display the promo codes used, and normally it does display them. Can you check to see if you’ve made any modifications to the site where the registration CSV reports are modified via a custom function or otherwise?

It may also help to make sure that your copy of the promotions add-on was fully installed. If it’s missing a file or two, it may not function as expected. You can download a fresh copy of the promotions add-on from your account page.

I have not done any customizations but I will try to reinstall.

Elizabeth

September 20, 2015 at 6:52 pm

I reinstalled and it is still not showing in the column.

We can investigate further if you can send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page:

Hi Dorian,

I logged in and generated a CSV registration report and the report includes information in the promotion code column. Here’s a screenshot that shows the promotion codes used.

Is there a specific attendee ID that used a code, that’s not showing a code in the report?

Elizabeth

I will have her try it again. Thanks!
