Admin check-in defaults to last datetime

Hi Guys

I wanted to raise this as it seems like an unfinished implementation or possibly a bug.

We have an event with multiple datetimes, which we will check people into separately. We have the Barcode Scanner addon and understand how to use that. It works great and I can see the check-ins in the database.

In the admin, if you go to the Checkin Records page for a particular registrant you will ONLY see datetimes from the very last datetime that was created, which I can see in my URL bar as DTT_ID=3. The page doesn’t tell us what datetimes the checkins are for and I’m not clear why I don’t see all the checkins for all the datetimes – with an extra column telling me the datetime name.

1. When using the toggle check-in feature this will perform a check-in/out on the last datetime that was created. Since the event itself uses the first datetime, surely that should be the default in the admin?
2. How would someone go about toggling the check-in for any of the other datetimes without using the Barcode Scanner?

My suggestion would be to ‘fix’ this:
– change the toggle checkin to use the first datetime
– add a drop-menu on the Checkin Records page to allow datetime selection/filtering and a checkin toggle button too. Show all the checkins across all datetimes.

Happy to hear a different explanation if I have totally misunderstood something.

Best
M

Hi M,

add a drop-menu on the Checkin Records page to allow datetime selection/filtering and a checkin toggle button too. Show all the checkins across all datetimes.

This is actually what it has and does. There’s a filtered view of checkins for each date time. The filtered view is toggled by a date time selector with a Filter button to its right.

After you select a date, then click filter, all of the registrations that were checked in for that date time will have a checkmark next to the Registrant’s name. Along with that, when you’re in that filtered view and you check a registrant in, it only checks them in for that date time. So when you change the filter to view another date time, you’ll see the checkmarks become x’s if they haven’t been checked in for that date time.

Hi Josh

Yes, I totally missed this selection of the datetimes. This makes a lot more sense now.

I would still suggest that the default selected should be the first datetime not the last. Plus having a checkin toggle button on the Checkin Records page would be useful.

Thanks
Matt
