I have gone under Registration Form and made all the address fields optinal including Address, City, State, Zip and Country. However, the form still has red asterisks indicating they are required. I cannot find settings for this on the event itself. An example is …

If you click to the Payment Options, you’ll see the address fiels. Is that a different setting somewhere or can be optional?

So, the addresses you have mentioned are not a part of the EE registration form but a part of the payment method where the payment method wants the full information of the payee which cannot controlled by EE.

Oh ok, now I see. So, we use Braintree for processing. Our Braintree AVS only needs the zip code in the card details to process. Is there any way to process without requiring that the other address information above the card details? Should that be controlled in our Braintree settings?

Right, After Registration, the payment your client chose loads their forms.
You can check with braintree if there’s option to customize that.
But we may have snippet for that one, check this guide.
