Hi EE. I need to get Registrant’s address information into the Registration Approved email. I have tried doing this by adding the following shortcodes, but it is just not working. I’ve searched for other ways to get this done, but this is the only one I’ve found. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

When I add the [PHONE_NUMBER] it works, however the shortcodes below are not.

Shortcodes used that aren’t working:

  • Registrant Address: [ADDRESS]
  • Registrant Address 2: [ADDRESS2]
  • Registrant City: [CITY]
  • Registrant State: [ADDRESS_STATE]
  • Registrant Zip: [ZIP_PC]
  • Registrant Country: [COUNTRY]

    Hi there,

Which context of the Registration Approved message are you editing? The event admin or Registrant/Primary Registrant? See:

    https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/

Which section of the message are you adding the above shortcodes to?

Are you collecting the system question group ‘Address information’ for your registrants as its those questions that EE uses to parse the above shortcodes?

    Hi Tony,
I am editing the Event Admin version of the Registration Approved message.

The code resides in the Attendee_List section of the message. Below is the code that resides there. The name, code and phone number all work. The Address, City, State, Zip, Country do not.

Yes I am collecting the system question group ‘Address information’ too.

    Thanks for the help.

    • Registrant Registration Code: < a href="[EDIT_ATTENDEE_LINK]">[REGISTRATION_CODE]
    • Registrant Phone Number: [PHONE_NUMBER]
    • Registrant Address: [ADDRESS]
    • Registrant Address 2: [ADDRESS2]
    • Registrant City: [CITY]

Is this happening on a specific event?

I check on one of you event and you are not collecting the address information question group – http://take.ms/bQcTh

You are collecting the phone number question within the ‘Personal Information’ question group, but not address questions.

If its for a specific event can you link me to that event please?

Hi Tony all events are setup the same way. However, the Address information is collected on the next screen. So there are two Question Groups, Personal Information and Address Information. Personal has Name, Phone, Email, Title and Address Information has Address, City, State, Country, Zip.

If I recall this is the way it as setup default? Thanks again.

Tony in additonI uploaded a screenshot too so you can see how the two Question Groups are setup. I don’t see a way to combine these into only one Question Group? Isn’t this the EE default?

However, the Address information is collected on the next screen.

That’s actually the billing info and is unique for each payment method, it could be completely different to the attendee address and so is consider unrelated to the registration.

For the above shortcodes to work you need to enable the ‘Address information’ question group on the event registration form, you do that by editing the event and clicking the checkbox next to that group here – http://take.ms/1CBvc

You probably only want that set for the Primary registrant.

The registration form will then ask for address info and that will be used for the above shortcodes.

Tony thanks for that I understand now.

The only thing that is strange about setting up events this way is that on the registration you add all your personal and address information, then click ‘Proceed to Payment’, which essentially then reloads the page with all the personal/address info, but adds the credit card fields at the bottom.

Is there any way to just get that all on the one page? So users can input their personal, address and payment information all together on that first page?

    Thank you!

Technically it does happen on one page, but I get what you’re asking, you want everything on one step. I’m afraid there isn’t a way to put the billing information fields on the same step as the registration info. step.

Maybe add that as a feature request for the future though? Thanks!
