I need to add some additional fields (input fields for address) on the checkout form.

Hi there,
EE already creates address system questions you can use on your registration form.
Edit the event and select the ‘Address information’ question group for at least the primary registrant, it’s the top section shown here – http://take.ms/1CBvc
(check the checkbox next to the Address info question group and save)
You can also edit the questions/question groups from within Event Espresso -> Registration form.
