So a quick question… the entire plugin itself is straightforward and I understand it fairly well. But in the situation of a camp registration, the main Full Registration may look like this: 1) Parent’s info (renamed default of “Personal Information”) And with the settings of being able to do group registrations, there are Event Espresso settings obviously. However, is there a way to ONLY require the additional question group of “Child’s Info” as mentioned above? Right now, I can only get the entire form to show up which is fairly odd in this situation. Or in other words, a parent registering 2 kids has to fill out their information twice (which is what I’m trying to avoid with the group registration). Thoughts? |
Hi, If you select 1 adult + 2 child tickets and require information for additional attendees, both those tickets would need the information to be entered along with the Primary Registrant’s information. Current there’s no way to select multiple quantities of a ticket but then only require information to be entered once for those quantities. Do you not have questions that must be answered for each child when registering? Reason I ask is you could create a Custom question group (‘Child Info’ for example) which would contain questions that would be unique for each child (“Child’s Name” for example) and require that for additional attendees. Questions that are generic for both (all) children within the registration could be assigned to another question group which is assigned to the Primary Registrant. |

What you described makes sense, but perhaps I explained incorrectly earlier. You are correct when you say, “Do you not have questions that must be answered for each child when registering?” We do have questions that must be answered for each child (such as name & age). The setup currently does actually two question groups: 1) Parent’s info Both of those question groups are required for the primary registrant. This is currently enabled through the “Event Questions for Primary Attendee” checkboxes on the event setup page. Now let’s say we enable group registrations… We would do this by toggling “Yes” on “Allow group registrations” However on the “Additional Attendee Registration Info” dropdown, there’s no way to select a specific question group to ask only (Child’s info) and instead the only option that currently fits is “Full registration information”. This in turn, shows the entire registration form again where a parent has to fill out all of their information again (redundant). Does this explanation make a bit more sense? I’m still confused on whether or not the functionality exists to handle this situation of only showing a particular question group (“Child’s info” in this case) for additional attendees in a group registration. |
From your description this appears to be when using Event Espresso 3, is that correct?
Yes it does, thank you for the explanation. Unfortunately this functionality is not available within EE3, not exactly how requested at least. MER registrations require Fname, Lname & email for each ticket type when requesting information. So you could request all information for additional attendees, then assign a ‘Child Question Group’ to the additional attendee’s. Like this: http://take.ms/6coNl Then when you select a single parent ticket, and for example 3 child tickets you’ll need to fill in the information for the Parent Ticket http://take.ms/HoY2W Then 3 instances of the Child ticket – http://take.ms/8HgSg The ‘Child Question Group’ is only displayed for the additional attendees but the Personal Information Group is requested for all. EE4 allows you to select single question groups to request for additional attendee’s, without the need for the Personal Information Group (Fname, Lname & Email) so you could again create another Child Question Group, request any required information for the Primary Attendee and then for additional attendees request ONLY that ‘Child Question Group’. Does that suit better? |

Sounds like EE4 is the way to go but all of the addons aren’t converted yet for that version so I’m stuck. Well that and the fact that we already purchased EE3 business license 🙂 |

Thanks for confirming the functionality issues in our use case though! |
