Adding the Numeric Data of QR Code For Manual Check-In Back-up

I’d like to have the QR Code’s numeric data under the qr code so if in the case the qr code is unreadable due to how it is printed or shown on the phone screen, we can type it in manually. Is there a shortcode I can add to my “Ticket” message template?

I noticed there is a 2nd code further down with the code format ##-#-#-d###… it is a 1D barcode… I cannot scan this with my 2d scanner but would this be of any use if the QR codes above isn’t working?

Hi there,

Yes, the ‘Registration Code’ shown under the 1D Barcode can be used in the Barcode scanner field to pull the registration and is the shortest of the 2 values (the value used in the QR is much longer) so is easier to type in.

Thats output using the [RECIPIENT_REGISTRATION_CODE] shortcode.

To test this you can use the ‘Lookup Attendee’ feature on the barcode scanner add-on and enter the code as you see it on one of the tickets (view in a tab on your browser) and you’ll see it pulls in the details for that ticket.

You’re most welcome.

Something to keep in mind is the EE4 Mobile Apps.

They are free and can often scan QR’s even when handheld scanners can not so if you want a backup, they could be a good option to use.
