Our use case is a typical conference with conference passes, meals, and housing. If the user selects a conference pass and then a meal or a housing option, they are prompted to enter information for multiple attendees. In this scenario, there is one attendee not multiples.

How is this intended to work? How does Event Espresso recommend setting up tickets for a scenario like this?

Hi there,

With Event Espresso registration questions are assigned to events and you get the choice of asking the only Primary Registrant some questions or both the primary registrant and any additional registrants. The question groups can differ between the 2 but you point being you get either set of questions or all sets.

That means that for the above, you’ll need to set up the event to only select the ‘Primary Registrant’ questions so that the user can select addition tickets without having to provide the ‘Additional Registrant’ questions.

So in this section: https://monosnap.com/file/SbYGsxdaZwiWs4NzEmDA0v2DNWikX8

You can only have questions assigned in the top section, not the bottom.

All of the tickets selected in the ‘group’ will then be assigned to the primary registrant.

Another option is to use a 3rd party add-on available here:

http://aparnascodex.com/downloads/price-modifier-for-event-espresso-4/

That add-on allows you to create questions that have values, so you can to move those ‘add-on’ items into questions rather than tickets.

Then if the user selects those items on the registration form it adds value(s) to the transaction for that specific question.
