Hello,

On our batch emails through Event Espresso registrations, we have Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ automatically included as icons on the bottom of the page. While we are active on Facebook and Twitter, we don’t use Google+ as much and would like to replace it with Instagram. Could someone please provide instructions on how to do so?

Thank you.

Hi Skye,

You go to edit your message templates and look for the html code that looks like this:
<a class="soc-btn gp" href="[CO_GOOGLE_URL]">Google+</a>
and replace with something like this:
<a class="soc-btn gp" href="https://www.instagram.com/instagram_account_name/">Instagram</a>

Here’s a screenshot that shows the location of the above html code.

Thanks for the advice. Here is the code I updated based on my understanding of your response:

redacted – Event Espresso support team – LOC

However, when I send a test email, instead of having “Instagram” listed the same way FB and Twitter are, there is the entire link to our Instagram page. What do I need to modify so that the link merely operates as a hyperlink and isn’t displayed?

Thanks!

So it looks like you have this:

<a href="[CO_FACEBOOK_URL]">Facebook</a> <a href="[CO_TWITTER_URL]">Twitter</a> <a href="[CO_INSTAGRAM_URL]">https://www.instagram.com/celticartsfoundation/</a>

Which should be changed to the following:

<a href="[CO_FACEBOOK_URL]">Facebook</a> <a href="[CO_TWITTER_URL]">Twitter</a> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/celticartsfoundation/">Instagram</a>

Thank you very much! That did the trick! Do you think you could help me with adding the link to our Twitter profile as well? I realized it doesn’t currently link to anything and my attempt at putting in the code resulted in the same thing my original Instagram attempt resulted in.

Our Twitter URL is: https://twitter.com/CelticArts

Thanks again so much for your help. It’s appreciated very much!

Have you set your twitter account up within the EE settings?

EE generates those links using whatever you have set within:

Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Your Organization -> Social Links

This section – http://take.ms/19SGQ

So if you add your twitter account there the links should automatically update for you on messages generated after that change.
