I am running EE3 and using the full business license of features. (I do have Members addon, as well as the Roles and Permissions Pro)
Is it possible to add more fields to the “Events Profile Information” under the User’s WordPress profile page? Currently, there is only Address 1 & 2, City, State, Zip, Country and Phone Number. I am looking to add fields like “Dealer Code” and “Agent ID #”. Picture for clarification.
Is this possible? I am currently using “Cimy Extra User Fields” as a work around but would like more seamless integration with Event Espresso. Thank you!
You would need to modify the EE3 WP User Integration add-on files. Take a look in plugins/espresso-members at the files member_functions.php and user_vars.php. Do a search through there for “address” and you should see the lines that you have to duplicate and modify to suit your needs.
Please note that you would then need to take care not to do an automatic update of the EE3 WP User Integration add-on through the WP plugin interface. Any modifications you make should be backed up. The best way is to save a diff file of the changes. That way you can apply the diff as a patch to any new version of that add-on that is released.
I wouldn’t expect any new updates of that add-on to be released, it’s just a best-practice type of thing.
That works. I modified both of the files and was able to successfully save my text from in a new field. Thank you.
The second part of my question has to do with linking those new fields to the “Questions” and “Question Groups” section. How can I update the new fields by “Questions” before registering for an event?
