Hi,

Is there a way to quickly and easily register exisiting contacts to new events? We have people that book onto 6 week courses and some of them have to be added manually. Instead of us having to type people’s details in each time it would be realy useful to just register them using the exisiting ‘contact’ details.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

At this time Event Espresso does not have this feature. That said, if you’re adding attendees via the admin and they already have contact details, you can input only the First Name, Last Name, and email address into the registration form and that registration will be included with their Contact record’s other registrations.

Oh ok – that is a shame. The workaround is ok but it does wipe out all the previous personal information held on the contact.

Is this a feature that might be considered as an addition?

Thanks
Dave

That shouldn’t happen, can you provide more details on this, please?

Which details are lost?

We have people already registered on courses so they have their name, email, address and phone numbers.

When I manually add a new registration with just the name and email, all other details are wiped. I am assuming this happens because the system sees the latest information as ‘correct’ which is logical, but doesn’t help me when I just want to add another registration quickly.

I was thinking that the most useful addition to the system would be a ‘register to another event’ button on the ‘contact view’ page. This would then just migrate all personal contact details to the new registration.

Thanks
Dave

Are you adding those registrations to the event through the admin or front end?

That’s a nice idea and I will add this as a feature request, however, to be honest, we have a lot of other features with much higher numbers of requests so its unlikely we’ll get this in the near future without sponsorship.

Note I’m not saying we don’t have any interest in this (I think it’s a good addition) but we have to prioritize our developers so we go with the most requested features that fit with our roadmap for the plugin.

The registrations are being added via admin.

I understand about the development. How do I know if it makes it to your development plan?

I just checked and we actually already have this feature request on our roadmap here:

https://trello.com/c/fMavsfuJ/87-create-a-new-registration-for-an-existing-contact

And one specifically for the WP User integration add-on here (although I think they will likely be combined):

https://trello.com/c/3qDvvRgG/113-wp-user-integration-admin-side-registrations-add-ajaxified-text-field-that-autofills-for-existing-user-accounts

You are invited to add your vote and any additional comments to either/both of those forms.

Features will move across to the ‘planned’ and ‘in progress’ boards as we work through them.
