Hi! We’re running a real estate CE site with event espresso and we need to print out certificates for each person that completes the class. So we are using the ticket function as our means to creating these certificates.

But for each class we have a couple fields that we need to enter. for example whether or not the class is a core class or an elective. we need to display that on the ticket in a certain spot by itself for the certificate to pass certain MREC guidelines.

So what can we use as a work around for adding these additional items to each ticket

Hi,

The ticket template editor (as well as invoice, receipt, and email editors) actually has built-in support for displaying Custom Field values added to the event.

So for example if you have a “Core” class you can go to edit that event and find the Custom Fields box and click the “Enter new” link, input core-or-elective for the Name field and input Core for the Value field. Then you click the “Add Custom Field” button, and update the event. Repeat for other events.

Then you go to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates > Tickets and input this shortcode where you want the Custom Field value to be displayed:

[EVENT_META_*core-or-elective]
