Just creating a simple sidebar in the widget area to get this done. How should I do this?

You’ve created a sidebar?

The output for the events is controlled by your theme, EE just injects the event content into the_content of your theme’s template, as EE events are custom post types your themes single.php template file is usually used.

Does your theme provide options for displaying a sidebar on specific posts?
