Hi there,

Not sure how best to explain – and it seems to be random. I have received complaints from customers that “nothing happens” when they hit “add to Cart” .. often this is user error. However, I have been able to replicate the issue. Must not happen to everyone, because we still have entries coming in.

Instead of the cart appearing – just a small rectangle with green outline instead. See attached screenshot.

Its happened on this page in the screenshot: http://www.superbilliardsexpo.com/events/seniors-amateur-players-championship/ but I have seen it on my other events as well.

Any idea what is going on?

Add to Cart malfunction

Hi,
The reason for the breakage is because your site is allowing http and https. So for example, if you try to add to the cart on this page, it’s broken:
http://www.superbilliardsexpo.com/events/seniors-amateur-players-championship/

Here’s the same page, only difference being it’s https:

https://www.superbilliardsexpo.com/events/seniors-amateur-players-championship/

You’ll note that when the page is https, the cart function works. The reason for this is because the wp-admin on your site requires https. So the way forward will be to enforce https on the entire site. You can install the Really Simple SSL plugin and it will make that happen for you:

Ohhh… good catch! Thanks so much!! Enabled the plugin and issue appears resolved.

Does this mean I did something wrong when I added the SSL Certificate? I wasn’t sure how to configure things- thought i did it right, but guess I missed this. Anything else I should look for?

Thanks so much!!

The SSL cert seems fine, your site does serve pages with https. The problem was the site also allowed serving pages as http. If you check this URL now:
http://www.superbilliardsexpo.com/events/seniors-amateur-players-championship/

You’ll notice that it automatically redirects to https, which is what you want to happen.
