Is there or has there ever been an “add-to-calendar” button on single event or event listing pages? I don’t recall but client swears there was one. Any insights appreciated.

Hi,
There is one, and it normally appears to the right of the listed dates on the event page.
I checked your site and it looks like at one point someone added some custom CSS that was intended to hide the button. Here’s a screenshot that shows the CSS in question that could be removed to allow the button to be shown again:
