Updateing existing questions works fine, but when I fill out the form on Manage Questions > Add New Questions and click the “Add Question” button, I get sent to a Page Not Found – the url does not change from “/wp-admin/admin.php?page=form_builder&action=new_question” How can I troubleshoot – as usual, a client is anxiously waiting for a question to be added. 🙂 Thanks in advance for any and all assistance |
Hi Jesse, There are a few possible causes to these issues. You can rules these out one by one: 1) A theme conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme. 2) A plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins. It may also help to turn on debug mode. You can set wp_debug to true by editing the wp-config.php file. You can use an [FTP client][1] and [a text editor][2] to access change this line to the site’s wp-config.php file: [1]: http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients |

Hi Josh: Well, problem persists with no plugins active except EE, and using Twenty Twelve theme. Debug shows nothing in that configuration. In that basic configuration (no plugins, default theme) I tried two different browsers on Mac – Chrome and Safari. Am I the only person having this issue? Could it be a server setup thing? .htaccess file is standard WP, no extra rules. Thanks |

Oddly, it works fine in my local install under MAMP. I’m stumped. |

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this? If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ NOTE: login details need to be Admin level. |

Thanks, Dean – sent as requested. |

Hi, I see this is happening on Questions and Question groups, though strangely not Venues. I thought this might be a url issue, but your settings have them as the same. Was this site transferred from another URL or developer site? I havent done in depth testing on this ( I didnt want to start affecting a live site), but I would suggest looking at the Redirect plugin you have installed. I know it is only meant to handle logins, but it could still be causing it. Even when disabled, you would need to be certain the redirects are definitely stopped (htaccess etc), as this may be affecting the internal links (somehow). As Josh mentioned, this is definitely another plugin (potentially theme but I reckon plugin) that is affecting the behaviour here. |

Deam: Thanks for having a look. I thought the same thing about that Redirect plugin. When I’m sure the site is quiet, I will give a go at completely deleting it and refreshing all caching, check .htaccess etc. The site hasn’t been transferred so there shouldn’t be any errant url issues. I’ll post back once I’ve done some further testing. Thanks |

Yes please do, it would be good to know a solution if you find one. |
