Add dynamic radio buttons to event form

I need a form field added to the registration flow that lists radio button selections that are generated by a query or relationship.
I have seen this on some art class sites using EE. There is a list of projects available to choose from with each class(event). I want to base this list of options on a query or relationship so that if an event category matches the project category, it gets listed in the form field.
Can someone suggest plugins I may have overlooked in reading the forum, or if there is a PHP coding solution?

Hi there,

Those may have been added by means of some custom development. May I ask can you post a link to one of the art classes that you saw that had those?

Actually, my example isn’t exactly what I was asking for, but it’s close.

I’m afraid I do not see a form field added to the registration form that lists radio button selections that are generated by a query or relationship. Instead, the registration form has a text area where the design option can be input there.

Ok, we’re getting off track.
Can the thing I’m asking for be done? I just need to some guidance on if it’s possible.

Most ideas can be done but they require custom development. One of the developers listed here will be able to give you a quote to build an extension of the forms system. The basic forms system doesn’t have a built-in way to assign question groups based on event category. It’s limited to assigning question groups to a specific event.

Let me ask a different question.
If I could perform a query on the database and loop through the results as a drop down box or a set of radio buttons in the registration form, where is a good place to start looking in the code? I’ve seen the example registration form file. Where is the equivalent in EE?
Thanks for your help!

Hi there,

Great question, and one of the developers can follow up with you on where to start looking at the code if you can create an issue on Github:

https://github.com/eventespresso/event-espresso-core/issues

You can label the issue “Question” and that will make it evident that the issue isn’t a bug report.
