Hi all, I am using Shortcode to show Event lists. Is there a option to add some shortcode to show a More Details or Register now button at every event? Thank you and best regards |

Are you referring to this? You can modify your event list page, by going to https://monosnap.com/file/Xndfa9JI2wlJHiI70KmbzQFen7mSsW If you want to add category slug, you will be needing some modifications |

Hi Rio, Thank you for your answer! No I don´t mean buttons on single Event page, I mean created event list when we use shortcodes like [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=your_event_category_slug] When I use this shortcode for displaying a Event list then I get linked Event Title, Event image, Event description, Event dates. And I also want to show the used category slug as text at each listed event. Best regards |

When you say “more Details”, what other details you want to show up there? For the Category Slug to be there, you have to modify the template. We have some details on the template files used for each individual EE event section here: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/0a35fe4997992fdb1dc5 Then you’ll need the help of a developer who is familiar with template files to make changes for you. Thanks |

Hi Rio, I think I couldn´t explain right what I mean. I mean event list view – the overview of some events created via Shortcode. Maybe it´s easier when I show you what I mean: Thank you and best regards |

Hi there, That looks like you are using the EE Upcoming events widget rather than the What your looking to do is likely possible, but sounds like you’ll need to customize the template used to include the details you need. However, which template, depends on what you are using to output the events. So, are you going to be using |

Hi Tony, Yes, I am using shortcode [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]. In detail [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=categoryname]. Best regards |

We have existing widget you can use. but in order to modify it the way you wanted it, check this gist: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/d0d5f485ae0599e56e20 Add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/ Then between lines 385 and 386 add whatever you want the widget to output Note that widget adds a ‘Custom Event Espresso Upcoming Events’ widget to Appearance -> Widgets and you need to use that in place of the default, its to allow you to edit the widget from within a plugin, editing the core plugins widget you’ll lose the modifications when EE updates, with the plugin you wont. Thanks. |

Thanks for this suggestion, but that widget is not good working in my case. I want to insert this widget/shortcode two or more times in one page with category filters to show event sections per category. And if I insert more than 1 widget it only shows 1 event list from first widget. Only when I insert shortcodes [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=categoryname1] and [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=categoryname2] then it shows wished 2 or more event lists correctly. |
|
So can I creat custom shortcodes via custom function.php e.g. or is this not working? |

Apologies but I’m confused, the output on the page doesn’t match the It matches the Upcoming events widget. See here: https://monosnap.com/file/XB1ajBj4yUnfd6v27p41yVyZKAFr9S |

September 16, 2023 at 12:22 pm Sorry for confusing, you´re right, at the moment here (https://www.hundeschule-yd.de/) is widget used, but we want to show 2 sections with 2 widgets on 1 page (filtered by category, some events with dates showing, some without dates). But when I do this, the 2nd widget events are not visible in frontend – only when I add it via shortcode. You can find it on this page, but I didn´t show it, because this page could be more confusing because it´s a mix of showing posts archive via Elementor and shortcodes: https://www.hundeschule-yd.de/veranstaltungen/ |

Did try to use 2 Upcoming event widget, but works fine. Can you shoot us video of the setup in that page? Also, please send us your system information. Tell us also your elementor version. thanks |
