I went to create a new event today, and the event description field, excerpt field, and editing tools weren’t there. There was a title field and below it the SEO Settings section. When I created a title and tickets, then published it, the title simply shows up as ‘Auto Draft’. The only change recently was a WordPress 3.8.8 upgrade. |
Hi Janis, Auto Draft events are usually created when you do not include a title for your event and publish it. If you click to create a new event, are all the fields available? If so add ‘Test’ to the title and publish the event, is that event created correctly? |
|
Also, which version number of Event Espresso are you using? |

A screenshot is here. I don’t get the typical field set-up that I’m accustomed to for some reason. I’m running Espresso 4.4.8p. If you go to my events page and scroll down, you’ll see how an event that I tried to add appears. I could create tickets and that was about it. |
Hi Janis, the fields appear to be missing. Was the only recent change updating to the latest version of WordPress? If so, could you also update to the current version of Event Espresso 4? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ — |

I’ve tried updating to the latest version today. The first attempt was a perpetual updating that lasted for hours. The events page was still working. I tried another update and now my event pages aren’t accessible any longer (see http://www.eqnimity.com/events) a real problem since my site was promoted to a large group today! I’m trying another update. What next if my site still doesn’t work properly? |
Hi, the update shouldn’t take hours. What version of WordPress are you currently using? Is it 4.2.2? Also, have you recently installed any new plugins? If so, try deactivating those to see if this helps with the issue. — |

I’m running 3.8.8. Akisimet was updated today, before I verified the Events page was working, otherwise no other changes to plug-ins were made. |
Alright, in this case you won’t be able to update as Event Espresso 4.6 (current release) needs a current version of WordPress to work. When you deactivate all plugins and then reactivate only Event Espresso, does the event editor appear as expected? If so, then another plugin is causing the conflict. You can restore your site a by reactivating a few plugins at a time until you find the source of the conflict. — |

Hi Janis, you can deactivate maintenance mode by clicking on the Maintenance mode link and then setting it to off and saving changes. http://cl.ly/image/2t3B2T0H0B1h — |

I’m not seeing the same Maintenance image you sent Lorenzo. Here’s what I get |
Hi, the image that I shared is the actual maintenance page. You’ll need to go to Event Espresso –> Maintenance or click through on the Maintenance link from the screen that you are viewing. Then turn off maintenance mode by selecting the off option and saving changes. Once that has been done, then Event Espresso will move out of maintenance mode and your events will reappear on the front-end of your site. — |

Hi, If you aren’t able to move the site out of maintenance mode, then could you complete the form on this page so we can take a look? https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Thanks — |
