I use this for a conference. Under the price I have 5 price options depending on your credentials. Physician $xxx, Therapist$xxx, etc. Once they select that, I need to give them the opportunity to decide if they also want to attend the preconference for $xxx. Is there a way to allow them to select the base price of the conference but then also add another price if they chose to attend both conferences?

Hi,

Currently there is no logic built into the pricing system to do what you are asking. You would have to use Multiple Event Registration and add it in that way.

that is what i though as well. I added a second event and made sure I have the most current multiple event update. There are 2 option in my registration and when you try to add either of them to the cart, a circle just spins beside it and nothing ever happens.

Ok let me add further. It actually just does not refresh. If you manually refresh the page you can view the cart and see what has been added. Thoughts?

Hi,

It looks like there is a JS error with your slider that could be interfering with it. The slider JS isnt loading due to a malformed url, but really it shouldnt load on that page anyway.

What can I do to correct?

Well my admin team updated the site to WP 3.5 and now nothing is working right. Same thing happened on my other site As soon as we upgraded, everything went haywire. The site that I provided the link to above was doing fine yesterday except the inability to refresh after multiple events were added. Now if you try to register is goes crazy!

Hi,

The first thing I would do is to turn the slider off to see if it resolves the issue, if so you can contact the slider developer regarding it.

Re: 3.5 – it was a major revision for WordPress almost every theme and plugin was affected by it (or it at least seems that way). EE was prepared to deal with known issues before 3.5 went live. From what I can see from your registration page, its your theme that has gone wrong. It says (via themeforest) that it was updated 8th Dec and is compatible with 3.5 so if you haven’t updated then you need to. If you have updated then you may need to contact the author after doing basic troubleshooting.

As far as I can see it seems to be the footer causing the main issues.

Below is the theme developers response…
Hey there.

Karma is fully compatible with WordPress 3.5 and coded according to WordPress coding standards.
We unfortunately are not available for custom 3rd party integrations. If the developer is not able to assist you and rather blame the Theme, you will need to engage a professional WordPress developer to help. We are unfortunately not available for customization work at this time. If you’re interested in hiring a programmer to help out with the customizations, we highly recommend to check out WPQuestions.
It’s a great website that enables you to hire a WordPress Expert for all of your coding needs. It’s super fast, reliable and very affordable.

You can access the WPQuestions here: http://www.wpquestions.com/

I hope this is helpful for you.

Cheers

This has worked great until now. Does this mean I’m just out of luck and need to find another event management program? Beyond frustrated..

Hi there,

I would hesitate to say that you’re out of luck. We will do our best to help you if you can work with us.

Can you take a look at the source of this page:
view-source:http://www.cincinnatisportsmed.com/index.php/event-registration/

If you look at line 14, there is an incorrectly formed URL that is supposed to call up a some JavaScript, but if you click on it, you’ll see that it is not. This really should be addressed, and it may even help with the other issues you are having. I do not know where that error would be coming from, but it may take some investigating to find it. Usually deactivating other plugins will help narrow down an issue like this.

You can also run a quick test to help rule out whether this is a theme issue. This will help us know which direction to take next. You can temporarily switch to another theme without actually changing the look of the website for your visitors by installing and using the theme test drive plugin

I updated all the plugins and removed the ones that I did not need. Now the multiple registration works. You can add to cart, view cart and register from there. You still cannot just click register without adding to cart first and make it work.

Hi there,

I checked, and this is working as expected. It sounds like you’re trying to make the registration process only use the Multi Event Registration cart option. If that is the case, you can follow this guide and make it the registration links will take you to the cart:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/

OK i did that and was able to remove the link so that works good now. My new problem is that when my people register it is not connecting to PayPal. I ran a test earlier and it worked fine, no one made any changes and I got a transaction id and complete registration. Payment did go to paypal. Now You get a complete registration but no money ever changes hands. Any thoughts?

I have a few thoughts and observations.

First, it looks like the theme is adding break tags around the hidden inputs in the forms, which can break things. Can you try wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on the /register page with the [raw] short tag?

It will look like this:
[raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

The second issue has to do with the test event. If you add the test event to the cart, you’ll notice the radio button there is preselected, but the total doesn’t automatically refresh. This is a known issue we are working on for the next version that will force a selection and the total will get refreshed. The real events you have set up are not affected by this, but you can change the test event to allow group registrations and set the group limit to use 1 to work around that issue.

The third issue has to do with PayPal Pro and SSL. PayPal Pro requires the credit card info to be sent over SSL. It looks like you have an SSL certificate installed, but the pages that handle the registration and payment are not configured to load as SSL. You can follow this guide to make these pages load with SSL/https:

I have no idea man. This was working so perfect then the updates and now I just cannot get it back. I did all the things you said and it still will not go through paypal. I made sure all my paypal info was correct but it just wont process the payment.

I just updated again all my paypal information and ran a test through and it worked, so I had my employee run one of the cards through on the non test event and it did not work. I immediately ran my own card through the test event again and it didn’t work. There just doesn’t appear to be any reason and I am not getting any kind of message to tell me what to look for. The registration complete no problem but they are listed as completed with a green check but if you click the attendee the payment is in a red box indicating that it has not been received.

Hi there,

It doesn’t look like you’ve made the adjustment to the group registration setting for the test event. Can you set Group registrations to yes for the test event and try again?

ok both my sites seem to be working right now. I appreciate all your help Josh.
