I would like to be able to charge a $100 fee when transferring a registration from one event to another event. Example, person registers and pays for a class, then later changes their mind and wants to transfer to a different class. This is accomplished easily enough, but I want to add a transfer fee so that they need to pay an additional amount to finalize the transfer.
As I understand it, I may be able to accomplish this by creating a new ticket for my events with the same datetime but the price would be $100 more, and transfer the registration to that ticket.
My question is, I do not want that ticket visible on the front end – rather I would apply it on the back-end when I make the transfer.
Alternatively, I wonder if I can do this using “Price Types” and just create a back end surcharge to apply after the transfer. Again, I would not want this option to be visible to the student.
Anticipating a question you may have, I already have the ability via custom plug-in to accept partial payments. So the student could potentially log in to pay that $100.
Does that all sound right?

Correct, this is how we would recommend doing this.

We don’t have an option for this within Event Espresso, however, another user created an ‘admin only’ feature for tickets, available here:

That allow you to see a visibility field on tickets and set them to be admin only but they’ll still show in the attendee mover add-on and allow you to select them.

Not without applying it to a ticket, which leaves you in the same situation.

If the user has already paid in full and this additional charge is to also be paid in full, you don’t need anything custom. EE will charge the ramiing balance on the transaction.
You would need your custom partial payments if so you wanted to split that into 2 $50 payments 🙂
