So even if I have “active tickets” for an event that I’m taking registrations for, the event itself has a status of “upcoming” – is that correct?
Seems odd that the event “active” status is only used on the day of the actual event. What’s the value of that? It seems like if you have active tickets, the event should be listed as “active” as well. It’s kind of confusing.
I’m new to EE4 and I’d like to understand this better in case there is some hidden value I’m missing. Thanks much! ๐
An ‘Active’ event is happening right now. Meaning today’s date is between the Datetimes event_start and event_end dates, so an event set up like this – http://take.ms/Umf5A
Would be ‘Active’ from 2015-11-01 08:00 am through to 2015-11-08 05:00 pm
Before those dates the event is ‘Upcoming’ because it isn’t happening right now.
Now… you can also have tickets that are active, or upcoming (works in the way way as described above). Active tickets are available to purchase right now, upcoming tickets open on the ‘Sale starts’ date for that ticket.
So for example you could have early bird, standard and late tickets and they can automatically open and close – http://take.ms/oMmTM
