Activation of EventEspresso plugin in wordpress fails

I installed EventEspresso in my wordpress site. Afterwards I tried to “activate” the plugin in wordpress – this did not work (page was not refreshed).
When I not try to access the dashboard of my wordpress site I get this error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 64 bytes) in /var/www/web300/html/wp-includes/pomo/mo.php on line 238
