Hello,

On EE4, registrations are created when the user entered its personnal informations. This is very boring because abandoned/non-paid registrations are stored in the database and I have to delete them. On a CMS like prestashop (e-commerce), orders are created after payment success. Is it possible to do the same with EE4 ?

I only use Paypal Express so it would be nice to record only paid tickets.

The latest abandonned registration on my website was made yesterday 11:47am (paris time) : one day ago, larger than the user session-time.

Thank you

Hi there,
It’s currently not possible to change EE4 so it works the same as prestashop. The abandoned registrations do not actually need to be deleted. You can send those a payment reminder and potentially get a payment from them!

On prestashop, when someone adds a product to its cart, the order is not created. It is created only :

– if the payment was successful on the payment gateway
– if the customer has chosen an offline method like check or bank transfert

If one of the two conditions above are not met, the order can be found as non ordered cart, not an order.

I know that :

– it is not necessary to delete abandonned registrations.
– we can filter on approved registration

BUT : I want to make life easier for people who manage the website. What I said in my first message would be a nice improvement.

One thing is very anoying : when someone fills-in the personnal information form and send it, the registration is saved and… a ticket is created !!!

Even if people who check tickets at the door should be careful when scanning, tickets should be created only after a successful payment…

That’s not entirely accurate about the tickets unless you’re using the
[TXN_TICKETS_URL] shortcode somewhere. Tickets are only generated if someone clicks a ticket link URL. If you use ticket URLs in the message template, you can make sure ticket URLs appear only if registration is approved (paid for) by using the
[TXN_TICKETS_APPROVED_URL]
shortcode in your messages. Only tickets for approved registrations are generated via the url on this shortcode.

While we appreciate your suggestions, there’s a real concern about changing things to start automatically deleting customer data if the customer fails to click on the finalize registration button. For example they may intend to pay later (which they can do with the way things work currently) and many users of Event Espresso use that feature set.
