Hey I am looking for an event registration system to recommend to one of my clients who is also getting me to build a wordpress site for him. He runs a basketball academy (they do personal lessons and in the summer they have summer camps). I want something that will allow him to put up multiple events and allow people to register for them. I want there to be a limited number of spaces, and I want a space to be filled whenever someone registers and pays for the event.
Those are the main features I want. Other things that would be nice:
- Display alerts on events when number of available spaces drops below a threshhold.
- Allow users to “watch” an event and send them an email with updates about the event or when the number of available spaces falls below a threshhold.
- Have events show up on a calendar
Would this plugin be able to give me the features that I’m looking for or should I look elsewhere?

Hi there,
Yes Event Espresso covers your main requirements and can also display events on a Calendar, however it does not have functionality for these two:
- Display alerts on events when number of available spaces drops below a threshhold.
- Allow users to “watch” an event and send them an email with updates about the event or when the number of available spaces falls below a threshhold.
The admin can view the amount of tickets sold etc but we do not throw any alerts based on ticket qty.
Have you signed up to Test Drive Event Espresso 4? If not I would recommend it as you can view the full plugin there and get a feel for how it works to see if it will suit your needs.
