Wordpress 3.9.1 I have a few questions I have about the system I’d like to throw out there all at once: 1. As an admin, is it possible to limit registrations from the same e-mail address? I don’t want a single person to be able to continually register and take all seats (we have some companies that try to do this). Thanks for any input!

Hi Steve, No, you cannot automatically restrict registrations from a certain domain. There is a admin pre-approval option available that you may want to use for this event: https://eventespresso.com/features/admin-pre-approval/#tabEE4Pre-approval The event name is currently available for the Event list area of the email messenger (for example, the registration approved email). You could use the add registrant feature in the WordPress admin and then cancel the existing registration for the old event. Alternatively, you could cancel the registration and then ask the registrant to register on their own. The registration approved email notification serves as a copy of the registration. Are you referring to the invoice that can be downloaded after a successful registration? — |

Hey Lorenzo, Thanks for the info. To clarify on question #1, I’m looking to ensure that johndoe@gmail.com can’t continually register to an event over and over and effectively close it out. Is that something we can do, or would it just be managed through the admin approval section you mentioned? |
One other question: I’m having a problem with my Event Categories. I have a top menu setup at wbcompanies.com as “Regions”, with Event Categories listed beneath. The problem I’m having is that if you click “Inland Empire” you see a list of all events from every category, not just those that have Inland Empire selected as the Category at the single event level. I’ve gone through a few different approaches to figuring out what’s up, but now I’m stumped. |
Hello, If you use the admin pre-approval feature (https://eventespresso.com/features/admin-pre-approval/#tabEE4Pre-approval), then you would have a list of registrants and you would need to manually approve them. — |

Hey Lorenzo, Can you take a look at my other question regarding Event Categories and not pulling correctly? |
Could you share a link to the page? Thanks — |
http://wbcompanies.com/ – if you look at the Regions menu item and choose any of those, each one will pull in 100% of published events, even though each event is only assigned a single category in EE. I can upload a screenshot of that if you need. |
Hi Steve, I checked your site an it turns out it’s running Event Espresso version 4.2.000.beta. In that version the taxonomy/category parts of the templating hadn’t been fully built out yet. That’s since been finished and was released. I can recommend updating to the latest version of Event Espresso 4.2 and try that out. |

Hey Josh, I updated to the latest version, but the category bug is still present. The top event on the following URL is not in the Inland Empire category: http://events.wordandbrown.com/event-category/ielnl/ |
Hi Steve, The site you linked is still saying it is running 4.2.000.beta |
Hey, Sorry about that – looks like we only installed that on staging. I just updated to 4.2.5, but I’m still getting the same issue. This event category doesn’t have any events assigned to it, but it’s still showing them: http://events.wordandbrown.com/event-category/nclnl/ |
Hello, It looks like all of the categories are showing the same content. Does it work if you install and activate the Theme test drive plugin and preview another theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Eleven? — |
Hey Lorenzo, I just tested out with the theme test drive on Twenty Twelve and the categories are working correctly. What steps would I need to take in order to fix this on my current theme? I’m using the Flare child theme and Genesis right now. |
Hello, Is this the current version of Genesis or an older version? — |
Hi Lorenzo, Update on this. It turns out that this was related to a previous issue I had submitted here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/how-to-exclude-expired-events-on-category-pages/ We included code to exclude expired events from the categories page, and this was causing the issue with the event categories to not show correctly. We reverted to the original code. |
Hi Steve, so this issue is now resolved? |
