I am very interested in using Event Espresso, but need to make sure it will work for all my needs before purchasing. I maintain the website for a Dog Sled Race in Minnesota and I’m looking to use this for musher registration Here are my questions, and I also would like to know (if this will work for all my needs) which package I would need to purchase. 1) We have a tiered pricing structure based on when you register. We have 3 different pricing phases. Can that easily be scheduled out? 2) Can we query and display the information for the people who have successfully registered from other locations within WordPress? 3) Is there the ability to have a standby list? So if you try to register after the event is full, you can be put on a waitlist? 4) Question types – What are all the available question types? Can the users upload a photo during registration? 5) We accept registrations from other countries, is that easy to change the form from state/zip for international users? Thanks! |
Hi Paul, How are you today? Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso. 1) What do you mean by tiered pricing exactly? Some people think that’s volume discounts, or discounts for dollar amounts, etc. Right now we really only have discounts per event. Sorry if we don’t have it all, but it might be a good start for you. Let me know if I can do anything else for you. |

Hey Garth, As for the tiered pricing structure, here’s an example: If they register before October 1 it will cost $590, between October 2 and December 31 is $640, and between January 1-15 it’s $690. Since you don’t have an upload field, is there no way to have a profile picture associated with the attendee? Would there be any way to create WordPress user accounts for the attendees automatically? The race I’m working for is on quite the shoestring budget, so would I be able to do all of the things mentioned in my questions with the personal license? Or would I need to upgrade? |
Hi Paul, What you’re describing for tiered pricing is actually early-bird pricing, which we have. But right now the early-bird pricing doesn’t work with multiple dates so you’d have to change the discount and date amount when the date comes and goes and switch it to the new amount and date. https://eventespresso.com/features/promotion-codes/ I’ll have to ask for help on whether you can create an attendee automatically or not (I don’t think you can as a standard feature), but with the WP Users Integration (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-members/) you can restrict events to people who have accounts on the website. Would your users be familiar with Gravatar? All the question fields are available in any of the licenses. |

Hey Paul, There is a way automatically create a WP user account when someone registers for an event on your site. It’s not a built in feature, but there’s some code posted in this gist that can be used with Event Espresso to automate creating user accounts: |
