Hi there! We are still getting our website up and going, so pardon the mess.

So, we have multiple event types. Some of our events are 8 week courses that occur once a week for four hours a week. People can sign up for the entire course, but they cannot sign up for individual classes, as each class builds of the last one – educational style.
We’d like the calendar to display the class every day it is going on, set it up just one time, and have people required to pay all 8 classes in advance. That way, our calendar is easy for staff and guests to read and know what is going on that week…and easy for attendees or prospective students to see that we have that course going on a recurring basis.
Attempting for this to be simply put.
How – or what is the best way – to ensure that we:
1. Create an 8 week course that meets once a week and shows up on the calendar once a week
2. Collect only 1 payment for the full course
I realize this may require additional custom development. If the functionality does not exist, we would like the “without development, right now” suggestion if possible, as we are starting up and money is tight. If you DO have this functionality coming, would love to know when the next dot release is.

Hi,
According to your requirements a few things need to happen:
Repeating course for 8 weeks
Show on calendar
Collect one payment
This is how I would create it:
The recurring event manager addon is needed so that should be on.
Create batch of events
Create an event:
Add title, description, venue, pricing. Next set the recurrence settings and publish.
This will build out additional events for the 8 week course. Now you need to edit the events for weeks 2 – 8.
Edit events for week 2 through week 8
Go to week 2 and adjust the name so it looks like this :
Event name – week 2
Now go to the event options (right side of event editor) and turn off the registration form. This will ensure that members can’t register.
Next, add a short message and include a link to the week 1 event which will be used to collect payment.
Then save changes.
Then repeat this process for week 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Review your changes
After you are done the following will be in place:
8 events with the first available for collecting information. These events will appear on the calendar. If something tries to register for weeks 2 through 8, then they should see your short message and link back to week 1 where they can register and pay.
