We upgraded this morning and all appears fine until you click “Register Now” for a class and we see:

Service Unavailable

PHP did not respond properly to the request. As a result, Apache considers the PHP-FPM service to be unavailable.

The php logs don’t point to anything specific but says:
[Sun Feb 12 14:01:29.539739 2017] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 5927:tid 140712255321856] [client 97.125.142.20:35637] AH01067: Failed to read FastCGI header – see https://serverpilot.io/community/articles/error-failed-to-read-fastcgi-header.html for more information, referer: https://streetsmartsdriversed.com/events/jh-118/

We’ve shut off caching with cloudflare and if you refresh the page it loads.

This is a Ded Server and we’ve restarted php but no change.

Site runs fine until it comes time to register?

We changed php version to 5.4 and solve the problem. We have been running 5.6 for a few months now, any reason why 5.4 would act differently?

Hi Bob,

You can troubleshoot this by following this guide:

Yes Josh I posted that in the error code yesterday.

Any reason why the latest update could be conflicting with php 5.6?
Any reason we had to revert back to 5.4?

The possible reasons are in the guide I linked to. Other sites are running PHP 5.6 with Event Espresso and they’re working OK.
