Seeing critical site error when trying to cancel registrants. Here’s the error information:
When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 6.1.1
Active theme: Twenty Nineteen (version 2.4) Current plugin: Event Espresso (version 4.10.41.p) PHP version 8.0.25
Correct, but I had cancelled those registrants first, but somehow they are still there and show registered, but with no event. Trying to cancel them OR should I just delete. There is no $0 associated with their registration.
Did you delete the event through the Event Espresso dashboard?
EE doesn’t allow you to delete events within the UI if you have registrations connected to them. Previously you would have needed to manually remove the registration first but we now have a batch process where it will remove all related data from the event for you when you delete the event.
Yes, I refunded the $$, then deleted the event from the dashboard, but didn’t realize those registrants would not also delete. What do you need from me to batch process. I have 4 registrants “orphaned” is it were and want all 4 just deleted at this point.

They should have been deleted, them being refunded or cancelled shouldn’t make any difference to that process. They are effectively orphaned data now as the event ID ties them together so with no event present our models can’t delete them.
When you deleted the event, did you see a page like this first:
That’s the batch process I mentioned earlier, it scans the database when you click to delete an event and pulls in all of the related data which needs to be deleted, giving a preview and confirmation before working through it.
What do you need from me to batch process.
I don’t follow? All of the data is stored on your own site, I can’t process anything from this end.
I’m checking into the models currently to see if it’s possible to force deletion without the foreign keys, much more difficult to collate the data that way but might be possible.
Then now I’m really confused as that’s the only delete routine within Event Espresso 4.
I can provide you access to the site if necessary to look at things.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to help. I’m going to see the registrations linked to an event ID for which there is no event which is basically what you’ve already told me above 🙂
I’ll set up a new local site and manually remove the event from the DB, then see what the models will allow from there. It may be a case where those registrations need to be manually removed but thats not usually something we would do.
I was able to cancel 4 of the 4 that no longer had an event attached and trash 2 that had $0. There was a refund against 2 of them, but they wont’ delete because they are part of a larger registration and it says I have to delete the entire transaction, so I’ll just let them stay in there as cancelled at this point.
So I have 2 sitting in cancelled, 2 sitting in trash and that’s the farthest I can go with them unless I delete the entire transaction all together, which I cannot.
With the same event setup I’m not running into issues when the event is deleted, it removes the registrations as expected.
However, If I manually remove the event from the DB I end up in a similar situation and if I then remove the payments from the EE Transaction I can remove all of the registrations.
Do you want me to try to remove all of those registrations? Note that it will be the entire group so if that’s a real group registration (not a test) then do you have a backup of all of the details used?
