1) Is there any ability in EE3 to detect multiple ticket purchasers over a period of time, to catch any ‘scalpers’ purchasing vast amount of tickets?
I’m sure the answer is a simple ‘no’, and the workaround is to simply keep looking in the backend of the attendees purchasing.
From a payment view, this is obviously dealt with by the payment gateway.
2) Can you confirm that only the EE App can scan the QR codes produced through EE, and are not able to be scanned by other 3rd party bar code scanners?
Event espresso does not have this functionality included, a custom Add-on would need to be developed to check against the criteria for what would would be considered ‘scalping’ although I do not think this will be an easy task.
2) QR codes are essentially all the same, any QR scanners can read the QR code. However without going into too much detail, the App uses the JSON API to make calls to Event Espresso so, firstly the user must be authenticated to use the API. Secondly the QR codes themselves are basically just holders for the registration_id and a couple of other bits of information, which in itself does nothing. The API uses this information to check the attendee and provides a response, depending on this response the App will display Accept/Deny.
