Setup a coupon code to remove 100% of the product purchase.
However the federal tax remains. I would like the coupon to remove the entire cost.
I also tried -105 (5% being the tax rate) and it didn’t work for single seat orders.

Hi there,
If you go to Event Espresso -> Promotions -> Settings (tab at the top of the list)
You’ll find the option ‘Promotions Affect Taxes’, what is yours currently set to?
