I’m trying to see if EE3 works for me, but I couldn’t gather enough information from the documentation since I had to buy it (and the add-ons) first before I got to see what they did. Anyways, my question:

Is there a way to create new users whenever a specific ticket (or event) is registered for, and then give certain permissions to that user such that they can access certain pages (or files)?

I want to create an event such that only these registered users can access certain pages or files. Can this be done in EE3? If so, which add-ons would I need?

I guess I’ll ask a more specific question:
Can I change or assign a registered user a certain role?

Yes, you can use a function like this to create or modify a user each time an event registration takes place:

You will need to use a site membership plugin like the S2 member plugin in order to restrict access to pages or files.

It’s just what I wanted!

So do I just place this file in wp-includes or something and it takes care of including it? (maybe a general WordPress question)

Thanks!

Hi,

You can add the code snippet to your child theme’s functions.php or a site specific plugin:
