I have an unusual issue here… 2 transactions seem to have gone missing?!?!

In the booking they’ve booked 2 classes (screenshots below) but there is no method of payment attached to the bookings???

Their registrations are set to “complete” when by the looks of them they should be set to “payment pending”. I’m sorry I’m not too sure how to describe this one!

Hi Declan,

Can we take a look at this please?

If so could you send login details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

We’ll need access to the database to investigate so just wanted to check its on to install a plugin to do that?

(Note FTP details would also be appreciated in this case)

Hi Declan,
We also found transactions 402, 553, 609, 648, 686, 692, and 717 all had similar issues.
We’ve been trying to debug and find what exactly is causing this but so far haven’t been able to reproduce.
I noticed though that transaction 402 was by a test user, hoping it was you. If so, do you remember what actions you took on that transaction? Eg, when you registered for it, did you have multi-event-registration active? Did you remove any tickets from the cart before completing the registration? Did you afterwards delete the ticket that was used to register for that event?
Right now we’re looking for as many clues as possible.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for looking into this… I’ll look at the transactions mentioned.

The test one was me, as to your questions…multi registration always been active. I’ve deleted things from the basket in the past. I’ve deleted tickets (after registration complete though in the wp administration side) also on the “my events” page… could that be causing it perhaps?  I’ve abandoned transactions in the past ect…

I’m currently away from my computer but will be able to look at these shortly.

Warm regards,  I appreciate the help! The last thing I need is a grumpy client breathing down my neck!

Declan

Hi I’ve looked over these transactions from the csv file… I downloaded this file yesterday.

Transaction: 717 – one of the ones mentioned.
692 – not on my file or the transactions list in ee
686 – one of the ones mentioned.
648 – not on my file or the transactions list in ee
609 – not on my file or the transactions list in ee
553 – not on my file or the transactions list in ee
402 – this was me. I’m not too sure but I believe I either abandoned at paypal or said to pay via bacs (never made any payments)

I’ve deleted tickets (after registration complete though in the wp administration side)

Do you mean you’ve deleted registrations? Because once there are registrations for a ticket you shouldn’t be able to delete it. Eg https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2KCao4zFjaxRGFfMWNQT2tWTW8/view?usp=drivesdk

…also on the “my events” page… could that be causing it perhaps?

What did you do on the “my events” page? Cancel registrations? And no it shouldn’t cause problems, but yes it’s possible that it is (haven’t figured out exactly what is causing these problems yet).

692 – not on my file or the transactions list in ee

well 692 is actually in the “failed transactions” list, as were a few of the others. But there were some I didn’t find any of the transaction lists. I think some of them might not appear in the transaction list because they’re basically broken and missing some pieces of information we need to display on that page.

oh hey this is important too: did the troublesome transactions START broken, or were they ok at first and then appeared broken LATER?

hey just an update declan, we’re still having a tough time reproducing this. Well, we see somewhat similar transactions in some of our test databases, but have not yet identified definite steps to reproduce the issue.
It seems the line items can sometimes be broken just when a server times out during a request that adds them.
Let us know if you experience this issue again or discover any other clues to reproducing this issue; or if you manage to remember if your broken transactions STARTED broken or if they were initially ok and then were later broken

Update: Hi Declan,

You can update to the very latest version, Event Espresso 4.8.8.p, which will prevent new transactions from going missing going forward.
