My needs: roster, client history, event list view, pricing based on membership

I’m looking at several event and event/membership plugins to modernize the website for my business, the Outdoor Adventure Club.

Many of the EE features seem perfectly suited for what we need, but there are a few things I haven’t been able to figure out:

1) Rosters- Guides on our trips need to be able to download a print-friendly roster for each event, with each registrant’s information, including contact and other questions we’ve added, like dietary preferences, med conditions, emergency contact info.

2) We see our clients repeatedly,so we need to maintain a record of events they have attended, payments made, etc. We need to be able to access that information from a client history type of screen. Does that exist in EE?

3) Almost all of our events happen on weekends, and often times there are 4-7 events each weekend day, so a calendar view doesn’t work for us. Is it possible to create a list view of events? How about a list view with/without an image?

4) We have both members and non-members coming on our trips. Members get a discounted price for each event. Can Event Espresso handle selling the membership? I’m assuming the membership would be a product rather than an event. Our ideal solution would include having guests register on the site, allowing them to purchase the discounted member ticket if they are in fact a member, and offering the non-discounted ticket price to non members.

Can you let me know how/if EE can handle these items? Feel free to let me know ff the solution is a combination of Event Espresso and other services as well.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso (EE).

1) Attendee details can be exported to a spreadsheet. This may need to be filtered, but it will contain answers to custom questions.

2) In EE4, there is a contact list which record events for that attendee (triggered by name and email).

3) Yes, by default in EE4 events are shown like blog posts. Featured images can be added should you wish). We also have an addon called Custom Templates which can provide different ways to display the events (currently a table view and grid view).

4) Unfortunately not. EE doesn’t handle site registrations like that. In EE3 there are some ways to help integrate the plugin with membership set ups (WP User Integration allows member pricing, S2Member Integration helps with S2Member levels, and a small code snippet can register users at the time of event registration).

EE4 doesn’t currently have any member integration addons. You could kind of fake it by having 2 events (members and none members) and use a membership plugin such as S2Member to block member events from being accessed. This will only work with single events though, not the event list.

From what you explained, I think you will still likely need something custom, as you won’t be able to sign someone up as a member solely by selecting an event/ticket.

If you haven’t already, please check out our EE4 test drive over at http://demoee.org

Just to clarify, Event Espresso does require a WordPress website in order to run (just making sure you’re aware of this as your current site is not a WordPress site).

Let me know if you have any more questions or need clarification.

Thanks for the response. I’m sifting through the options now, and looking into S2Member.

I was/am aware that EE is a WordPress plugin, requiring a WordPress site, but thanks for clarifying. I’m only about half a clue above that level, when it comes to building websites.

I’ll let you know if I have any other questions
