Hi There.

Originally installed the EE4 Decaf, then upgraded to the full version.
Deleted database and EE4, and did a full reinstall.

When I go to edit a venue, I get this message.
When I go to create a venue, when I save the details I get this message.

But the venue is in the list, and can be selected to add to an event.

Hi Gavin,

Is that the full error message shown?

How did you install EE4 Regular? FTP or via the Plugin Uploader?

Hello,

I have just finished reloading everything.
New web hosting server, new fresh install of wordpress 4. New database. No carried over data.

Tried to install EE4 full from the zip upload, and it failed to extract.

So I extracted the EE4 Core and uploaded by FTP.

Activated fine, I was able to configure general settings, countries and alike.

But I get exactly the same error with Venues.
I can create a new venue and enter all data.
As soon as I go to save the venue data I get the error
Cannot load espresso_venues.

The venue is added to the list, but if I click on it to edit it, I get the same error.

I have the default WordPress theme running. I have 2 other plugins working. They are for smtp log and WP-Mail-SMTP

All pretty vanilla, with the exception that my wordpress install is in a sub folder from the root of my web site.

Cannot load espresso_venues.

Is that the full error shown?

If you enable WP_Debug and save the venue, do you see any further error messages?

Hello Tony,

Yes that i the full error shown. If I select edit on a venue, I get a web page with only that message shown.

Do you have a walkthru for enablin WP_debug and capturing what is requested?
I turned on the EE4 logging, and the log did not contain much.

Hi,

Could you also test this on a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Fourteen?

Hello Lorenzo

Was initially running on the default Twenty Fourteen theme and the error was occuring.
Fresh installation of WordPress 4.0 Fresh install of EE4.
I had to upload and activate EE4 manually, as it errored trying to extract some of the template files when uploading the Zip file.
The issue may be related to my running WordPress and EE4 in a sub folder on my hosted site. Not in the root folder.

Hi Gavin,

The Cannot load error is an error that WordPress core throws when the following conditions are met:

if ( !( file_exists(WP_PLUGIN_DIR . "/$plugin_page") && is_file(WP_PLUGIN_DIR . "/$plugin_page") ) && !( file_exists(WPMU_PLUGIN_DIR . "/$plugin_page") && is_file(WPMU_PLUGIN_DIR . "/$plugin_page") ) )

This might be a permissions issue although it’s strange you can go in to edit a venue to begin with. Can you share some screenshots of before and after, and in the screenshots include the URL you’re accessing?

Along with that, here’s a how to guide on adding WP_DEBUG:

Hi Josh,

Just to correct, I can add a venue. It will enter all of the information and obviously store it in the database.
When i press ‘Post’ to store the venue data initially, I get this error.
If I try to edit a venue, I get this error.

Might be best if we can arrange a time for somebody in support to log to my site and check, as it is only the Venue part that seems to have a problem.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Please make sure that WP_DEBUG is active.

NOTE: login details need to be Admin level and FTP details are appreciated.
