EE3 to EE4 upgrade path

I have read several support forms and documentation. The only place I finally saw anything about the upgrade path was in this post https://eventespresso.com/topic/ee3-vs-ee4-upgrade-path-add-on-roadmap-ticketing-vs-registration/

“You can update from EE3 to EE4. You would need to deactivate EE3 and then upload and activate EE4. On activation, you’ll be prompted to migrate your EE3 information to EE4 or start fresh with EE4.”

You have good documentation on what plugins dont work yet with EE4. However what about the upgrade path. Other than the noted plugins not working is there anything that EE4 does not migrate when you upgrade? For example. If I upgrade should I see all of my existing EE3 events, attendees, payment options (paypal non pro), custom email responses etc? I don’t have a lot of customization and I don’t use a lot of extra plugins. Unless I have missed something, all of the plugins I use are currently available in EE4.

Hi Mike,

That is a great question.

Your events, attendees, registrations, and organization information will be migrated.

The custom emails will not be migrated as EE4 introduces a new messages system that offers customization to a handful of email notifications:
