Hello,

I have a live event available for booking with the wrong datetime… I need to alter thsi but can’t as people have made bookings… these people have been informed, how do i go about changing this?

Thanks in advance

Hey there,

When you say “live event”, are you referring to Active Status because “Active”? You should be able to make changes to the datetimes even if the event is Active with registrations. What are you seeing?

it has the padlock next to it… if I alter the time and update the event it updates the time to the time I click update!

Hello Mr. Declan,

I am not able to recreate the issue you are having. What version of EE4 are you on? Can you make sure you are on the latest (4.8.4)?

yes on the latest version

Okay. This is likely due to another plugin not following WordPress coding standards and using date_default_timezone_set(), which will cause a conflict. Do you have any other plugins that use Date/Time selectors?

If so, you will need to contact them and let them know about the conflict. You can share this link with them: https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/vip-development-tips-tricks/use-current_time-not-date_default_timezone_set/

As far as I can tell nothing would use the date/timezone. Only things I can think of are wordfence or yoast…

Hi Declan, there is a lock since there is at least one registration linked to that datetime.

Could you temporarily deactivate all plugins and then reactivate Event Espresso 4 and re-test?

Does the issue continue?

If not, please restore your site a few plugins at a time and then retest. Then share feedback here.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Hi… sorry I’m still to test this. Waiting until the site is quiet. Will update once done.

Hi Lorenzo… I’ve tried just now (its 2am here). Annoyingly its working fine… it did this before, sometimes it didn’t work and sometime it has! I’m not the one usually altering booking so cant comment on when its usually doing it.

When trying this I had the event open (logged out the site) on another browser and also tried altering whilst in the booking process… It appears to still have worked. I’ll keep trying so please keep the thread open for the meantime.
Warm Regards,
Declan

Hi Declan,

Do you mean that multiple members of your team are editing the same event at once?

no we’re not trying to change events at the same time… we’ve already been able to rule this out

Alright, one other question — would you happen to be traveling while working on the site?

The datetime picker uses a combination of your site settings for the region/city along with your browsers local time.

When I’ve tried I tried from 2 browsers on 1 computer. My colleague may have been travelling… a maximum of 30 miles though… likely using public wifi at times.
